Saturday night we went on a ghost tour! I'm usually quite cynical about ghosts... and this tour has not changed my mind. So then why did I go? D: Because Ed is also very cynical but when he did the tour a few years back, he had some strange experiences plus the tour itself was depressing/scary enough. He still doesn't believe in ghosts/spirits in the "after-life" sense though.
Anyway! This tour was held in the Sydney Quarantine station. We were given lanterns and shoved into dark depressing buildings to listen to stories. Back in the day, when people migrated to Australia, they were held in this Quarantine station to clear them of diseases such as Polio, Influenza, Tuberculosis (sp?) etc before the were released. (Most of them never got out!) When Ed visisted, the tour was more of a historical tour about the screwed up things which went on at the station. But when I went, a few years and 15million dollars investment later, it's turned into a "ghost tour" with a faggy tour guide who attempted many cheap scares throughout the tour. He also claimed he was a medium, a quatre Aborigine and a flight attendant by day. -_-; Many buildings and stories were sacrificed for his own "encounters". Sigh :(
There was also a bajillion people doing the tour at the same time so, ghost or not, the atmosphere was killed instantly.
( some screwed up stories! )
